Greg is an experienced civil and commercial litigator. He joined Oben in February 2019 and is an Associate and English Solicitor (currently non-practising). Prior to joining Oben, Greg worked for a full service Jersey law firm, where he gained experience in a wide variety of practice areas, including crime, in which he assisted in a number of high-profile cases before Jersey’s Royal Court.
Oben’s specialism in dispute resolution has enabled Greg to focus his practice, with an emphasis on trust and funds disputes, insolvency, contentious probate, fraud and negligence actions, acting for both plaintiffs and defendants. He has been involved in a number of high value and significant cases for both institutional clients and high net worth individuals.
He also has experience of non-contentious matters such as trusts, banking and debt finance and has a particular interest in planning matters, having been heavily involved in an ongoing dispute (since 2011) during which he represented the appellant in two successful third-party planning appeals.
Greg is currently undertaking the Jersey Law Course, with a view to qualifying as an Advocate in Autumn 2020, and was recently awarded the Law Society’s prize for the highest mark in the ‘Law of Security Interests & Bankruptcy’ paper.
