Oben Law, a Jersey law firm, and Oben Regulatory Limited, a regulatory consulting business, were established in September 2016. Oben is independent of any financial services business.
Oben Law specialises in dispute resolution. We have extensive experience, working with a range of clients including financial institutions, fiduciary businesses, private clients, family offices, governments and law enforcement agencies, global companies and regulators. We provide a high quality, responsive and personal service that builds solid relationships with our clients and their advisers, in order to help them to resolve their problems effectively.
Our regulatory team comprises lawyers, chartered accountants, and individuals previously employed in senior positions at the Jersey Financial Services Commission. Our key objective is to provide a bespoke, focused service to assist financial services businesses in a wide range of matters. Our relationship with our clients is paramount and we strive to deliver a uniquely tailored service that adds value to their businesses.
Since establishing Oben 8 years ago, we have witnessed much change in the local and international regulatory landscape. During this time, we have worked with governments, regulators and over 200 financial services business across all regulated sectors. We have represented clients in the majority of the JFSC’s civil financial penalty cases, and members of our team have and continue to hold prominent positions on relevant committees, working groups and industry bodies.
