Darren works with Oben as a consultant and helps our clients to design, implement and improve their approach to compliance risk management. His background is in regulation and includes over 15 years in senior roles at the JFSC.

Whilst working with the JFSC, Darren gained extensive experience of supervisory processes including authorisation, on-site examinations, prudential reviews and heightened supervision. Darren has led teams responsible for the supervision of banks, collective investment funds, investment businesses, fund services businesses and was part of the team that introduced the regulation of trust companies in Jersey in 2001.

Darren has planned and led thematic examinations on a wide range of topics including AML/CFT, financial sanctions, prudential reporting, corporate governance and information security. More recently, he helped design the JFSC´s supervisory risk model and the supporting guidance used by its staff.

Darren is the programme author and senior lecturer of the International Certificate in Financial Regulation (SIFS/CGI), a professional qualification for regulators.
