Oben Regulatory expands into the Isle of Man

Oben Isle of Man, has been launched in collaboration with established local regulatory expert, Steve Billinghurst, formerly a partner of Deloitte and leader of PwC’s Advisory Services.  Steve has a wealth of relevant regulatory experience having worked with financial and gaming regulated entities in an advisory capacity, as well as acting as liquidator under Manx legislation.  More recently he led PwC Isle of Man’s Advisory Services deepening their regulatory investigation and advisory services and developing their blockchain and broader fintech propositions.  Steve has worked with the Isle of Man Government’s digital agency as regulatory lead of the blockchain team and with its Business Agency in relation to the introduction of its cannabis based medicinal product export licensing and regulatory framework.

I am looking forward to leading Oben Regulatory (IOM) Limited, working collaboratively with the Jersey Oben team, and establishing the valued brand in the Isle of Man.  The pace of development of fintech and digital finance regulation just gets faster and its impact is becoming borderless as are the underlying services.  Joining up with Oben’s Jersey specialist team brings that broad range of advice and expertise to clients across all Crown Dependencies.”, said Steve Billinghurst, founding director of Oben Regulatory (IOM).

The opening of Oben’s new office is an important step towards realising our ambition to be the regulatory provider of choice in the Crown Dependencies” said Director, Alexandra Ruddy. “Our firm has provided value and insight to clients in Jersey and we are confident that Steve will bring his experience and knowledge to ensure that the clients of Oben in the Isle of Man will receive the same high standards of regulatory advice.”
